The Maker

Built by Hand. Built to Last.

Every board that leaves Rockwall Custom Woodworks was built by hand — cut, jointed, glued, and finished in a one-man shop in Rockwall, Texas. No production lines. No shortcuts. Just careful work and wood that speaks for itself.

Each piece starts as a selection of premium hardwood — maple, walnut, or cherry — chosen for consistent color and tight grain. The result is a board built to the same standard you'd expect from a heirloom piece of furniture.

End Grain Construction

The hardest-wearing board surface available. Knife edges slip between wood fibers rather than cutting across them, preserving both blade and board.

Food-Safe Finish

Every board is hand-finished with food-grade mineral oil and beeswax blend, sealed to resist moisture while remaining completely safe for food contact.

Built to Heirloom Standard

Tight joinery, food-safe glue, and proper grain orientation ensure a board that performs beautifully for decades — not just seasons.

The Process

01

Browse & Request

Choose your product type, size, wood species, and any add-ons from the pricing guide. Submit your order request — no payment needed to submit.

02

We Craft Your Board

Your order goes straight to the workshop. Every board is built to order — never off a shelf. Expect handcrafted quality that takes the time it deserves.

03

Complete & Pay

Once we confirm your order, a deposit is required to begin production. When your board is finished, the remaining balance is due at pickup or delivery.

Longevity

Care & Maintenance

With proper care, your piece will last for decades — growing more beautiful with age.

Clean

Wash by hand with mild soap and warm water. Dry immediately with a clean towel after every use.

Oil Monthly

Apply food-safe mineral oil whenever the wood looks dry or faded. New boards benefit from more frequent oiling early on.

Condition

Use a board conditioner combining mineral oil and beeswax to protect and nourish the wood. Avoid cooking oils that can go rancid.

Never soak your board
Never put it in the dishwasher
Never leave it sitting in water
